A H.A.V.E. Café Success Story: Glenda
As one of the founding partners and sponsors of theH.A.V.E Café, a culinary training society and a restaurant in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Mills is extremely proud of the many hardworking students who have graduated to start a new chapter in their lives!
H.A.V.E.’s first Red Seal Chef: Glenda
Glenda first came to H.A.V.E. as a student and completed the Culinary Training Program in May 2012. While enrolled in the program, she proved herself a natural teacher with a valuable skill for instructing others. With her positive attitude, work ethic and ability to communicate with others, H.A.V.E. was pleased to invite her to join staff. We are proud to say that she has been employed as Assistant Chef Instructor since her graduation!
What truly makes her so outstanding is her dedication to H.A.V.E. and her desire to give others the same hope and happiness she has acquired through the soul of food. Glenda’s first hand experience allows her to relate to H.A.V.E. students and truly understand where they are coming from. Her hard working attitude and culinary skills are an inspiration to H.A.V.E. staff and students, which drives them to reach their goals and become success stories of their own.
As an Apprentice under Chef Amber Anderson, Glenda completed her Industry Training Authority Red Seal certification in February 2019, making her H.A.V.E.’s first Red Seal Chef! We are incredibly proud of her dedication to excellence in the culinary arts.
